Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near Baldwin Hills

From Baldwin Hills, our South Gate store is about 15.8 miles by road, roughly 26 minutes in light traffic. It is one counter, one address (8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280), and a team that does both car audio and DJ equipment. To be clear about how we work: DJ Custom Audio has a single store at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280. Baldwin Hills customers drive in, and we make that trip worth it with gear on display, installs in our bay and straight answers.

As a Los Angeles neighborhood, Baldwin Hills sits in one of the busiest driving areas in Southern California, where a good sound system makes long drives easier. Baldwin Hills is in the Central & South Los Angeles area; our shop is southeast of Baldwin Hills.

Car audio

Car audio is half of what we do, and Baldwin Hills drivers keep the bay busy. The work includes head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so maps, calls and music run through a proper screen instead of a phone mount; backup cameras and dash cams, for safer parking and a record of the road; alarms and remote start (Viper only), for security and a cool cabin on hot days; amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly; and subwoofers and enclosures, for bass you can feel without rattling the whole car. For customers coming this far, we suggest calling ahead so the install bay is ready when you arrive.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. Bought something online already? We install customer-supplied gear too. Daily drivers, work trucks, boats and Can-Am machines all come through the bay. Tony keeps the bay focused on sound, security, cameras and lighting, done right the first time.

DJ equipment

Baldwin Hills DJs, bands, churches and families shop our DJ and pro audio floor. On the floor you will find cases and stands, turntables and media players, mixers, DJ controllers, subwoofers, lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers) and amps and processing, plus fog, haze and bubble effects, cables and accessories, microphones and wireless systems and powered speakers. Our DJ and pro audio lines are ADJ, Technical Pro, JBL, QSC, RCF, Electro-Voice, Chauvet, Shure, Pioneer DJ and Mackie. Whether the goal is a first DJ rig or a full PA for a venue, we can match speakers, mixer and mics to the room size.

Not sure where to start? Ask about our equipment packages: a quinceañera or wedding party system, a church or venue PA and a DJ lighting kit are popular picks. Everything here is for sale: no rentals, no DJs for hire, and no DJ equipment repair. Joe will help you set up your gear and get Serato running before you leave.

The last stretch brings you to Atlantic Avenue at Firestone Boulevard in South Gate. The shop is at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, next to the 7-Eleven. Parking is on site, and a shopping center sits across the street, so you can grab food while an install is underway.

Why make the drive

Why drive in from Baldwin Hills instead of ordering online? You talk to the people who will actually install your system, not a call center. You can hold a DJ controller or mixer, test a wireless mic, and compare powered speakers side by side. You get an honest recommendation, including when a cheaper option is the right call. You can hear the difference between speakers and subs on our demo displays before you spend a dollar.
