Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near Carson

From Carson, our South Gate store is about 11.6 miles by road, roughly 18 minutes in light traffic. It is one counter, one address (8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280), and a team that does both car audio and DJ equipment. There is no DJ Custom Audio location in Carson. We run one shop, in South Gate, and everything happens there: installs, demos, gear pickup and Payment Plan paperwork.

Carson is a city in Los Angeles County where a lot of people live in their cars between work, school and family, so audio upgrades get real use. Coming from the South Bay & Harbor area, you head northeast to reach us.

Car audio

Car audio is half of what we do, and Carson drivers keep the bay busy. The work includes backup cameras and dash cams, for safer parking and a record of the road; amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly; full sound systems, planned around your car and budget; head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so maps, calls and music run through a proper screen instead of a phone mount; and speaker upgrades, which fix muddy factory sound more than anything else. For customers coming this far, we suggest calling ahead so the install bay is ready when you arrive.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. Trucks, boats and Can-Am powersports are welcome along with daily drivers. We stick to sound, security, cameras and lighting, and we only put in gear we trust.

DJ equipment

Carson DJs, bands, churches and families shop our DJ and pro audio floor. We stock microphones and wireless systems, DJ controllers, turntables and media players, powered speakers, lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers), fog, haze and bubble effects, mixers and amps and processing, and cases and stands, subwoofers and cables and accessories. Our DJ and pro audio lines are Mackie, Electro-Voice, ADJ, RCF, QSC, Technical Pro, Shure, JBL, Chauvet and Pioneer DJ. A DJ from Carson upgrading to a new controller, a church adding wireless mics, and a family building a party system can all be helped in one visit.

Not sure where to start? Ask about our equipment packages: a DJ lighting kit, a backyard party PA and a church or venue PA are popular picks. We sell DJ gear only: no rentals, no DJs for hire, and no DJ equipment repair. Ask Joe on the DJ side about setup and software like Serato; he works with this gear himself.

The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 11.6 miles from Carson by road (8.6 miles in a straight line), and the shop is northeast of Carson. Without traffic the drive takes about 18 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The usual route from Carson uses I-710 (Long Beach Freeway), then surface streets such as East Del Amo Boulevard and Firestone Boulevard for the final miles.

Look for the corner of Atlantic and Firestone. We are next to the 7-Eleven at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, with parking on site and a shopping center across the street if you want to wait nearby during an install.

Why make the drive

Is the trip from Carson worth it? Here is why most customers say yes. You can hold a DJ controller or mixer, test a wireless mic, and compare powered speakers side by side. You can reserve gear by phone and pick it up at the counter, so nothing is sold out when you arrive. You get an honest recommendation, including when a cheaper option is the right call. You talk to the people who will actually install your system, not a call center.
