Lakewood Village customers make the 12.2-mile trip to DJ Custom Audio in South Gate for car audio installs and DJ equipment they can see, hear and take home the same day. Without traffic, the drive from Lakewood Village, a neighborhood of Long Beach, runs about 20 minutes. There is no DJ Custom Audio location in Lakewood Village. We run one shop, in South Gate, and everything happens there: installs, demos, gear pickup and Payment Plan paperwork.

Lakewood Village is part of Long Beach, and like most Long Beach neighborhoods it runs on driving, so what you hear in the car matters. Coming from the Gateway Cities (Southeast LA County) area, you head north to reach us.

Car audio

Car audio is half of what we do, and Lakewood Village drivers keep the bay busy. The work includes full sound systems, planned around your car and budget; backup cameras and dash cams, for safer parking and a record of the road; amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly; GPS and lighting, to round out the build; and alarms and remote start (Viper only), for security and a cool cabin on hot days. We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. Daily drivers, work trucks, boats and Can-Am machines all come through the bay. We keep it to sound, security, cameras and lighting, and we only put in gear we'd run in our own rides.

DJ equipment

The other half of the shop is DJ and pro audio equipment for sale, and a lot of Lakewood Village buyers come for it. We stock fog, haze and bubble effects, mixers, amps and processing, cables and accessories, DJ controllers, subwoofers, microphones and wireless systems and turntables and media players, and powered speakers, lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers) and cases and stands. The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 12.2 miles from Lakewood Village by road (8.3 miles in a straight line), and the shop is north of Lakewood Village. Without traffic the drive takes about 20 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The usual route from Lakewood Village uses CA-91 (Artesia Freeway) and I-710 (Long Beach Freeway), then surface streets such as Lakewood Boulevard and Firestone Boulevard for the final miles.

Look for the corner of Atlantic and Firestone. We are next to the 7-Eleven at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, with parking on site and a shopping center across the street if you want to wait nearby during an install.
