Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near Montclair

From the city of Montclair, DJ Custom Audio is about 35.5 miles away by car (plan on 45 minutes or more depending on traffic). That is a real drive, so this page lays out exactly what is worth the trip and how to get here. We do not have a branch in Montclair and we do not do mobile installs. What we offer Montclair customers is one well-stocked South Gate counter where the same team handles car audio and DJ equipment.

As an incorporated city in San Bernardino County, Montclair has plenty of daily drivers who put serious hours behind the wheel, which is exactly when better sound pays off. Coming from the Inland Empire (San Bernardino County) area, you head west to reach us.

Car audio

Car audio is half of what we do, and Montclair drivers keep the bay busy. The work includes amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly; full sound systems, planned around your car and budget; head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so maps, calls and music run through a proper screen instead of a phone mount; GPS and lighting, to round out the build; and speaker upgrades, which fix muddy factory sound more than anything else. From this distance, most customers book installs ahead of time so the car goes straight into the bay.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. We work on cars, trucks, boats and powersports like Can-Am machines. We keep it to sound, security, cameras and lighting, and we only put in gear we'd run in our own rides.

DJ equipment

Montclair DJs, bands, churches and families shop our DJ and pro audio floor. We stock microphones and wireless systems, turntables and media players, lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers), powered speakers, fog, haze and bubble effects, subwoofers, DJ controllers and cases and stands, and amps and processing, cables and accessories and mixers. Brands we carry include ADJ, JBL, Electro-Voice, Mackie, Chauvet, RCF, QSC, Technical Pro, Pioneer DJ and Shure. A DJ from Montclair upgrading to a new controller, a church adding wireless mics, and a family building a party system can all be helped in one visit.

Not sure where to start? Ask about our equipment packages: a backyard party PA, a starter DJ setup and a church or venue PA are popular picks. Everything here is for sale: no rentals, no DJs for hire, and no DJ equipment repair. Joe will help you set up your gear and get Serato running before you leave.

The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 35.5 miles from Montclair by road (29.0 miles in a straight line), and the shop is west of Montclair. Without traffic the drive takes about 45 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The usual route from Montclair uses I-10 (San Bernardino Freeway) and I-605 (San Gabriel River Freeway), then surface streets such as Monte Vista Avenue and Firestone Boulevard for the final miles.

The last stretch brings you to Atlantic Avenue at Firestone Boulevard in South Gate. The shop is at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, next to the 7-Eleven. Parking is on site, and a shopping center sits across the street, so you can grab food while an install is underway.

Why make the drive

Why drive in from Montclair instead of ordering online? You can see how a head unit screen will look, and ask whether it fits your dash. You can hold a DJ controller or mixer, test a wireless mic, and compare powered speakers side by side. You talk to the people who will actually install your system, not a call center. You can reserve gear by phone and pick it up at the counter, so nothing is sold out when you arrive.
