Hondas are everywhere in Southeast LA, and most of them came with a stereo that sounds tired. We upgrade Civics, Accords, CR-Vs, Pilots and Odysseys in our own bay, usually the same day.

Honda stereos, honestly

Civics and Accords are the most common Hondas we see. A lot of them are older, with a radio that has no CarPlay and speakers that crackle at half volume. CR-Vs, Pilots and Odysseys come in as family rides where everyone just wants the phone to connect and the kids to hear the music in the back.

Some Honda trims came with a premium system, and on those the plan is different. A premium setup can include a factory amp and extra speakers, so we find out what you have before we suggest anything.

Swapping the radio

Plenty of older Civics and Accords take an aftermarket receiver with the right dash kit and harness. That gets you CarPlay, Android Auto and a better sounding head unit.

Newer Hondas are tighter. On many, the screen and climate or vehicle settings are tied together. That can mean a vehicle-specific dash kit, an integration module, or keeping the factory screen and upgrading the speakers and bass instead. Some Hondas also had a side camera on the passenger mirror. Whether that stays working with a new radio depends on the year, so we check it first.

Sound, bass and the extras

Door speakers are the easy win. A set of Alpine components with a small amp tucked out of sight makes a Civic or Accord sound like a different car.

For bass, a compact powered sub under a seat works well in a CR-V or Civic when you want to keep the trunk. In a Pilot or Odyssey, there are more places to hide a small enclosure.

Dash cams are popular with Honda owners who commute every day. We hardwire them so they are clean and out of the way. Viper remote start is available too. Push-to-start Hondas need the right bypass parts.

An Odyssey is a great van for a clean, balanced system. Rear speakers matter when the kids are the ones listening. On a Pilot, we can bring the third row into the mix too. Everything gets tuned in the bay before you pull out.

Tell us what you drive

An Accord EX and an Accord Touring from the same year can be two different jobs. Tell us the year, make, model and trim. Text (213) 674-9042 and Tony confirms what fits, then quotes the install. Prices for gear are in the online shop. Se habla español.

Questions

Can my Civic or Accord get Apple CarPlay?

Many can, either with a new receiver or by upgrading around the factory screen. It depends on the year and trim. Text us those and Tony will tell you what works.

Will a new radio keep my steering-wheel buttons?

In most cases the right harness or integration module keeps them working. We confirm the exact parts for your Honda before the install.

Can I add bass and still use my trunk?

Yes. A compact powered sub under a seat is a common choice in Hondas. We look at your car and show you where it can go.
