A Jeep with the top off needs a system that can be heard over the wind. We upgrade Wranglers, Gladiators, Grand Cherokees, Cherokees and Compasses right here in South Gate.

Jeeps are different

Wranglers and Gladiators live with the top off and doors off. That means sun, dust and the odd splash. Gear that holds up to that matters. Marine-rated amps and speakers are a smart choice for a lot of open-top builds.

Many Wranglers and Gladiators came with a factory Alpine system, depending on the trim and year. On some Grand Cherokees you may have Alpine, Harman Kardon or McIntosh. These systems use a factory amp, so we plan around them.

We see plenty of Cherokees and Compasses too. Those are daily drivers first, so the goal is clean sound and a stock look.

Uconnect and radio swaps

Most newer Jeeps run Uconnect. On many, it handles climate, off-road pages and vehicle settings. On those, we usually keep the screen and build the system behind it with a DSP or line output device.

Older Wranglers, Cherokees and Compasses without a large screen are often good for a new CarPlay receiver. With the right dash kit and integration module, we can keep steering-wheel controls and more.

Speakers, bass and extras

The factory sound bar and dash speakers in a Wrangler get lost at freeway speed with the top off. Better speakers and a small amp change that. For bass, a spare-tire mounted powered sub is a popular idea on Jeeps with a rear-mounted spare. We check your setup to see if it works on your Jeep. A Gladiator has a bit more cab room for a sub behind the rear seat.

In a Grand Cherokee, Cherokee or Compass, we keep the cargo area usable and hide the amp.

Jeeps get stolen and broken into, so a Viper system with keyless entry or smartphone control is a smart add. Dash cams are popular for trail days and the freeway.

We also get asked about extra speakers up top and hidden amp spots. Every Jeep build is a little different, so we look at yours in person and give you honest options instead of a one-size plan.

Year, model, trim, and top

A Wrangler Sport and a Wrangler Rubicon can have different audio systems. Tell us the year, make, model and trim, and whether you run the top off. Text (213) 674-9042 and Tony confirms what fits and quotes the install. Se habla español.

Questions

Is there gear that holds up with the top off?

Yes. Marine-rated amps and speakers are built for sun and moisture. We will walk you through options that make sense for how you drive.

Can I get bass in a Wrangler without losing cargo room?

A spare-tire mounted powered sub is a popular way to do it on Jeeps with a rear spare. We check your setup before recommending it.

My Jeep has the factory Alpine system. Can I upgrade?

Yes. It has its own factory amp, so we plan the upgrade around it. Text us your year and trim for the best path.
