Vehicle-Specific Speakers and Sub Boxes for Trucks and Jeeps: Kicker L7T Boxes, Alpine PSS Systems and JL Audio Custom-Fit
Trucks and Jeeps have little room for a regular sub box, and their factory speaker spots are odd shapes. Vehicle-specific parts are built for those spots. On our listings, Kicker L7T boxes fit behind or under the seat in select Silverado, Sierra, F-150, Super Duty, Ram and Tacoma trucks, with one for the Wrangler tailgate. Alpine PSS systems replace every speaker in a 2015-and-newer F-150 Crew Cab, with a version for each factory audio package, and Alpine's Jeep kits are weather resistant for top-off driving. JL Audio Custom-Fit 6x9s and midtweeters fit factory spots in many Ram, Toyota and GM trucks. Cab, year and factory audio decide the fit, so Tony confirms your vehicle first.
Why vehicle-specific
A vehicle-specific box is shaped for one cab, so it tucks behind or under the seat and leaves the bed and cabin free. Vehicle-specific speakers use the factory mounting points and plugs; many of the Alpine kits on our listings use vehicle-specific connectors or harnesses so they plug in, per their listings.

F-150 Crew Cab: pick the system for your factory audio
Alpine makes four PSS versions for the F-150 Crew Cab, and the factory audio decides which one fits: the PSS-23FORD-F150 for 2015-25 trucks with base audio (XL, XLT, STX), the PSS-23FORD-F150BO for 2018-24 trucks with the 8-speaker B&O system, the PSS-24FORD-F150BO for 2025 and newer with 8-speaker B&O, and the PSS-23FORD-F150BU for 2021-26 trucks with B&O Unleashed (14 or 18 speakers). All four use S2-S80C 8-inch components up front, S2-S65 6.5-inch coaxials in back and a dual 8-inch box under the rear seat, and install without cutting or splicing, per their listings. They are for 4-door Crew Cabs, not 2-door trucks.
Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator
For the JL and Gladiator, the Alpine PSS-24WRA is a complete system for non-amplified trucks (front pods, rear soundbar, 8-inch powered sub and a 4-channel power pack), and the PSS-23WRA2 adds the powered sub, power pack and dash tweeters. Neither works with the factory Alpine premium system. For the JK, the PSS-22WRA is a full system for JK Unlimited trucks without the factory amp, and the SBV-10-WRA (10-inch, under the passenger seat) and PWE-S8-WRA (8-inch powered, under the driver seat) add bass on their own.
Kicker's 51KJPL7T122 puts a 12-inch L7T in a weather-resistant box on the tailgate of the JL or JK, so the cabin stays open. Its listing notes that on some Wranglers the factory passenger-side sub must come out for clearance, and it needs an amplifier.

On factory radio power, pick an efficient coaxial like the Infinity Kappa 693M (94 dB), Hertz CX 690 (93.5 dB), JBL Club 964M or Stage3 9637F (93 dB) or JL Audio C2-690TX (93 dB). With an amp, step up to a component set like the JL Audio C1-690, Alpine R2-S69C or Kicker CS 46CSS694, which put the tweeter up front. Do you have a sub box that fits behind the seat of my truck?
Our listings include Kicker L7T boxes for select Silverado / Sierra, F-150 / Super Duty, Ram and Tacoma trucks. Cab and year decide the fit, so Tony confirms your truck first.
Which Alpine F-150 system do I need?
It depends on the factory audio: PSS-23FORD-F150 for base audio (2015-25), PSS-23FORD-F150BO for 8-speaker B&O (2018-24), PSS-24FORD-F150BO for 8-speaker B&O (2025 and newer) and PSS-23FORD-F150BU for B&O Unleashed (2021-26). All are for Crew Cabs.
Will Alpine's Jeep systems work with my factory Alpine premium audio?
No. The PSS-24WRA and PSS-23WRA2 listings say they are not compatible with the factory Alpine premium system, and the PSS-22WRA is for JK Unlimited trucks without the factory amp.
Do these need an amplifier?
The Kicker L7T boxes and the JL Audio CF-690-RTG need one, per their listings. The Alpine PSS systems include their amplifier or power pack, and the PWE-S8-WRA has its own built in.
