Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near Altadena

Altadena is on the outer edge of the area we serve, about 20.1 miles from our shop at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, and roughly 34 minutes without traffic. People still make the drive when they want DJ and pro audio equipment they can hear before buying, or a car audio install done by a team that has been at it since 2012. There is no DJ Custom Audio location in Altadena. We run one shop, in South Gate, and everything happens there: installs, demos, gear pickup and Payment Plan paperwork.

Altadena is an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County; our customers from there tell us the drive is simple once they know the route. Altadena is in the San Gabriel Valley area; our shop is south of Altadena.

Car audio

Altadena drivers come to us for car audio installation and gear. The work includes head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so maps, calls and music run through a proper screen instead of a phone mount; amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly; backup cameras and dash cams, for safer parking and a record of the road; alarms and remote start (Viper only), for security and a cool cabin on hot days; and full sound systems, planned around your car and budget. From this distance, most customers book installs ahead of time so the car goes straight into the bay.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. Trucks, boats and Can-Am powersports are welcome along with daily drivers. Tony keeps the bay focused on sound, security, cameras and lighting, done right the first time.

DJ equipment

The other half of the shop is DJ and pro audio equipment for sale, and a lot of Altadena buyers come for it. On the floor you will find lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers), turntables and media players, fog, haze and bubble effects, cases and stands, mixers, subwoofers and powered speakers, plus cables and accessories, amps and processing, DJ controllers and microphones and wireless systems. You will see RCF, Shure, Technical Pro, QSC and ADJ on the shelves, plus Electro-Voice, Pioneer DJ, JBL, Chauvet and Mackie. Whether the goal is a first DJ rig or a full PA for a venue, we can match speakers, mixer and mics to the room size.

Packages save guesswork. A quinceañera or wedding party system and a backyard party PA are two we build often, matched so every piece works together. Everything here is for sale: no rentals, no DJs for hire, and no DJ equipment repair. Ask Joe on the DJ side about setup and software like Serato; he works with this gear himself.

The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 20.1 miles from Altadena by road (16.8 miles in a straight line), and the shop is south of Altadena. Without traffic the drive takes about 34 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The usual route from Altadena uses I-210 (Foothill Freeway), Long Beach Freeway and I-710 (Long Beach Freeway), then surface streets such as West Valley Boulevard and Firestone Boulevard for the final miles.

You will end up at Atlantic Avenue and Firestone Boulevard. Pull into the lot next to the 7-Eleven at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280; parking is on site, and there is a shopping center across the street.
