Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near Arts District

From Arts District, our South Gate store is about 10.1 miles by road, roughly 15 minutes in light traffic. It is one counter, one address (8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280), and a team that does both car audio and DJ equipment. There is no DJ Custom Audio location in Arts District. We run one shop, in South Gate, and everything happens there: installs, demos, gear pickup and Payment Plan paperwork.

As a Los Angeles neighborhood, Arts District sits in one of the busiest driving areas in Southern California, where a good sound system makes long drives easier. Arts District is in the Central & South Los Angeles area; our shop is southeast of Arts District.

Car audio

If you drive in Arts District, these are the car audio jobs we handle every week. The work includes alarms and remote start (Viper only), for security and a cool cabin on hot days; subwoofers and enclosures, for bass you can feel without rattling the whole car; amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly; full sound systems, planned around your car and budget; and head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so maps, calls and music run through a proper screen instead of a phone mount. For customers coming this far, we suggest calling ahead so the install bay is ready when you arrive.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. We work on cars, trucks, boats and powersports like Can-Am machines. Tony keeps the bay focused on sound, security, cameras and lighting, done right the first time.

DJ equipment

Arts District DJs, bands, churches and families shop our DJ and pro audio floor. We stock cases and stands, mixers, cables and accessories, lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers), turntables and media players, fog, haze and bubble effects, subwoofers and amps and processing, and powered speakers, DJ controllers and microphones and wireless systems. Our DJ and pro audio lines are JBL, Electro-Voice, Technical Pro, Shure, Pioneer DJ, QSC, ADJ, Mackie, RCF and Chauvet. Common Arts District requests: a first controller and speakers, a bigger PA for a growing church, or lighting to finish a setup.

We also put together equipment packages, such as a quinceañera or wedding party system, a backyard party PA or a starter DJ setup, so you walk out with gear that works together. Everything here is for sale: no rentals, no DJs for hire, and no DJ equipment repair. Joe will help you set up your gear and get Serato running before you leave.

The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 10.1 miles from Arts District by road (6.8 miles in a straight line), and the shop is southeast of Arts District. Without traffic the drive takes about 15 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The usual route from Arts District uses US-101 (Santa Ana Freeway), I-5 (Santa Ana Freeway) and I-710 (Long Beach Freeway), then surface streets such as East 4th Street and Firestone Boulevard for the final miles.

Look for the corner of Atlantic and Firestone. We are next to the 7-Eleven at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, with parking on site and a shopping center across the street if you want to wait nearby during an install.
