Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near Compton

Searching for a car stereo shop or DJ equipment store near Compton? DJ Custom Audio is about 6.9 miles away by car at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, roughly a 13-minute drive without heavy traffic. To be clear about how we work: DJ Custom Audio has a single store at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280. Compton customers drive in, and we make that trip worth it with gear on display, installs in our bay and straight answers.

As an incorporated city in Los Angeles County, Compton has plenty of daily drivers who put serious hours behind the wheel, which is exactly when better sound pays off. Coming from the Gateway Cities (Southeast LA County) area, you head northeast to reach us.

Car audio

Car audio is half of what we do, and Compton drivers keep the bay busy. The work includes full sound systems, planned around your car and budget; subwoofers and enclosures, for bass you can feel without rattling the whole car; backup cameras and dash cams, for safer parking and a record of the road; head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so maps, calls and music run through a proper screen instead of a phone mount; and alarms and remote start (Viper only), for security and a cool cabin on hot days. The drive is short enough that most install customers wait at the shop or run errands nearby.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. Daily drivers, work trucks, boats and Can-Am machines all come through the bay. Tony keeps the bay focused on sound, security, cameras and lighting, done right the first time.

DJ equipment

The other half of the shop is DJ and pro audio equipment for sale, and a lot of Compton buyers come for it. Categories include DJ controllers, amps and processing, fog, haze and bubble effects, cables and accessories, subwoofers and turntables and media players, along with cases and stands, microphones and wireless systems, powered speakers, lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers) and mixers. Our DJ and pro audio lines are Shure, ADJ, Mackie, QSC, JBL, RCF, Electro-Voice, Chauvet, Pioneer DJ and Technical Pro. Whether the goal is a first DJ rig or a full PA for a venue, we can match speakers, mixer and mics to the room size.

We also put together equipment packages, such as a DJ lighting kit, a quinceañera or wedding party system or a church or venue PA, so you walk out with gear that works together. We sell DJ gear only: no rentals, no DJs for hire, and no DJ equipment repair. Joe will help you set up your gear and get Serato running before you leave.

The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 6.9 miles from Compton by road (4.8 miles in a straight line), and the shop is northeast of Compton. Without traffic the drive takes about 13 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The quickest route from Compton stays on surface streets, mainly Otis Street and Firestone Boulevard.

Look for the corner of Atlantic and Firestone. We are next to the 7-Eleven at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, with parking on site and a shopping center across the street if you want to wait nearby during an install.

Why make the drive

Why drive in from Compton instead of ordering online? You can hear the difference between speakers and subs on our demo displays before you spend a dollar. You talk to the people who will actually install your system, not a call center. You can hold a DJ controller or mixer, test a wireless mic, and compare powered speakers side by side. You can reserve gear by phone and pick it up at the counter, so nothing is sold out when you arrive.
