Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near Hawthorne

If you are in the city of Hawthorne and want car audio or DJ and pro audio gear from a shop that lets you listen first, DJ Custom Audio is about 12.4 miles away at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280. Plan on roughly 19 minutes when the freeways are moving. We do not have a branch in Hawthorne and we do not do mobile installs. What we offer Hawthorne customers is one well-stocked South Gate counter where the same team handles car audio and DJ equipment.

As an incorporated city in Los Angeles County, Hawthorne has plenty of daily drivers who put serious hours behind the wheel, which is exactly when better sound pays off. On a map, Hawthorne falls in the South Bay & South LA part of Los Angeles County, and South Gate is east of it.

Car audio

Hawthorne drivers come to us for car audio installation and gear. The work includes subwoofers and enclosures, for bass you can feel without rattling the whole car; backup cameras and dash cams, for safer parking and a record of the road; full sound systems, planned around your car and budget; alarms and remote start (Viper only), for security and a cool cabin on hot days; and amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly. For customers coming this far, we suggest calling ahead so the install bay is ready when you arrive.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. Daily drivers, work trucks, boats and Can-Am machines all come through the bay. Tony keeps the bay focused on sound, security, cameras and lighting, done right the first time.

DJ equipment

Hawthorne DJs, bands, churches and families shop our DJ and pro audio floor. On the floor you will find amps and processing, powered speakers, lighting (wash, moving heads, lasers), mixers, microphones and wireless systems, DJ controllers and cases and stands, plus subwoofers, cables and accessories, turntables and media players and fog, haze and bubble effects. You will see Electro-Voice, Shure, ADJ, Pioneer DJ and Technical Pro on the shelves, plus QSC, RCF, JBL, Mackie and Chauvet. Common Hawthorne requests: a first controller and speakers, a bigger PA for a growing church, or lighting to finish a setup.

Packages save guesswork. A quinceañera or wedding party system and a backyard party PA are two we build often, matched so every piece works together. To be clear, this is gear sales: no rentals, no DJs for hire, and no DJ equipment repair. Ask Joe on the DJ side about setup and software like Serato; he works with this gear himself.

The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 12.4 miles from Hawthorne by road (9.8 miles in a straight line), and the shop is east of Hawthorne. Without traffic the drive takes about 19 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The usual route from Hawthorne uses I-105 (Century Freeway), then surface streets such as Otis Street and Firestone Boulevard for the final miles.

Look for the corner of Atlantic and Firestone. We are next to the 7-Eleven at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, with parking on site and a shopping center across the street if you want to wait nearby during an install.

Why make the drive

There are good reasons Hawthorne customers shop in person with us. You talk to the people who will actually install your system, not a call center. You can see how a head unit screen will look, and ask whether it fits your dash. You can reserve gear by phone and pick it up at the counter, so nothing is sold out when you arrive. You get an honest recommendation, including when a cheaper option is the right call.
