Car Audio & DJ Equipment Near North Hills

North Hills is on the outer edge of the area we serve, about 33.6 miles from our shop at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, and roughly 45 minutes without traffic. People still make the drive when they want DJ and pro audio equipment they can hear before buying, or a car audio install done by a team that has been at it since 2012. There is no DJ Custom Audio location in North Hills. We run one shop, in South Gate, and everything happens there: installs, demos, gear pickup and Payment Plan paperwork.

As a Los Angeles neighborhood, North Hills sits in one of the busiest driving areas in Southern California, where a good sound system makes long drives easier. On a map, North Hills falls in the San Fernando Valley & Verdugos part of Los Angeles County, and South Gate is southeast of it.

Car audio

Car audio is half of what we do, and North Hills drivers keep the bay busy. The work includes amplifiers, to power speakers and subs cleanly; GPS and lighting, to round out the build; speaker upgrades, which fix muddy factory sound more than anything else; alarms and remote start (Viper only), for security and a cool cabin on hot days; and head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so maps, calls and music run through a proper screen instead of a phone mount. From this distance, most customers book installs ahead of time so the car goes straight into the bay.

We're an authorized JL Audio and Alpine dealer, and we also carry Kicker, Focal and Pioneer. A lot of installs get done the same day. Trucks, boats and Can-Am powersports are welcome along with daily drivers. We stick to sound, security, cameras and lighting, and we only put in gear we trust.

The drive

DJ Custom Audio is about 33.6 miles from North Hills by road (26.5 miles in a straight line), and the shop is southeast of North Hills. Without traffic the drive takes about 45 minutes; rush hour can add a lot more, so check your maps app before you leave. The usual route from North Hills uses I-5 (Golden State Freeway) and I-710 (Long Beach Freeway), then surface streets such as Van Nuys Boulevard and Firestone Boulevard for the final miles.

The last stretch brings you to Atlantic Avenue at Firestone Boulevard in South Gate. The shop is at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate, CA 90280, next to the 7-Eleven. Parking is on site, and a shopping center sits across the street, so you can grab food while an install is underway.
