Metra makes the dash kits that let an aftermarket radio sit in a factory dash like it came from the plant. There are six Metra pieces listed, and each one shows its price on the item. The 95-5820B matte black and 95-5820HG high-gloss kits are for the 2009 to 2014 Ford F-150. The 95-5812 covers a long list of 2004 to 2019 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury models, and the 95-3305 covers a long list of 2006 to 2023 GM cars and trucks. The 99-5839CH and 99-5838CH are Mustang kits for 2010 to 2014 and 2015 to 2023.

The plain kits are a frame, brackets, and trim, and they are some of the cheapest parts on the job. The two Mustang kits are bigger pieces. Each one adds a small touchscreen for the climate and settings menus that used to live in the factory radio, so you do not lose them when the radio comes out. That is why they cost more than a plain frame.

A dash kit is only part of the install. The car may also need a wiring harness, an antenna adapter, and a steering wheel control interface, and the right mix changes with the year and the trim. Tony builds that parts list when you bring the year, make, and model, and he will say if a Metra kit or a different fit is the better answer. The radio and the kit go in together in our bay in South Gate, often the same day.
