Thinkware is the dash cam line we show when someone wants clear video and a camera that keeps watching after the car is parked. There are three Thinkware pieces listed: the U1000 and U1000 Plus, which record 4K up front with a rear camera, and the Q1000, which records 2K up front with a rear camera. All three have parking mode, Wi-Fi for playing clips on your phone, and GPS for speed and location.

The Thinkware cards say Call for price. Call and Tony will give you the number and tell you which one is on the shelf. The U1000 is the pick when you want to read plates at a distance. The Q1000 costs less and still gives clean everyday video. Kenwood and Alpine dash cams are on the same wall with their prices on the card if you want to compare.

Parking mode is the part that makes a dash cam worth it in a city lot, and it needs the camera hard-wired to the fuse box with a cut-off so it does not drain the battery. That is a job for the bay. Tony runs the rear cable under the headliner and the trim so nothing hangs, and he sets the cut-off for the way you drive. Installs are done here in South Gate, often the same day. If you are also doing a radio or a backup camera, do them together, because the trim comes off once.
