Lexus ES speaker upgrade

The ES is a quiet luxury sedan, which makes every detail of the sound easy to hear. Early ES models use 6.5-inch front door speakers, and 2007 and newer move to 6x9s in the front doors; the 2026 car still needs a check at the shop. We have verified sizes for 6 of 7 year ranges or trims in our table; anything not verified says "Confirm fit at the shop".

  • 2007–2012 · without factory navigation: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 99-8162G (single/double-DIN).
  • 2002–2006: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 99-8158G (single/double-DIN).
  • 1997–2001: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 95-8155 (double-DIN) or 99-8155 (single-DIN).
  • 1995–1996: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 95-8150 (double-DIN) or 99-8150 (single-DIN).

If the new speaker is a different size or deeper than the factory one, it can need an adapter bracket. Tony checks with your car in front of him before he starts.

How it works at the shop

Buy and install at 8696 Atlantic Ave, South Gate. Tony installs in our own bay, often the same day. Everything is picked up at the shop.

What size speakers fit the Lexus ES?

It depends on the year. Some we have verified: 2019–2025: 6x9" in the front doors, 3.5" in the dash, 3.5" in the rear doors; 2013–2018: 6x9" in the front doors, 4" in the dash, 6.5" or 6-3/4" in the rear doors; 2007–2012 (with factory navigation): 6x9" in the front doors, 6.5" or 6-3/4" in the rear doors. Any other spot or year: confirm fit at the shop.

Do I need a new radio or an amp to upgrade the speakers?

Not always. New speakers can run off the factory radio. Some factory premium systems use an amp that needs an interface; we check your trim before you buy.
